The Mills River Farmers' Market is looking for several growers of quality early, mid, and late season vegetables and/or fruit.   Affiliation/ experience with a regional tailgate market preferred but not required.

Our customers are looking for YOU!

The Mills River Farmers' Market is a grower only(no buying & re-selling) market located on Hwy 280, a 5 minute drive beyond the Asheville Regional Airport.  Hours are Saturdays, 8 AM 'til noon, May through October.

Farmers Market Manager Workshops

Registration is now open for NCDA&CS's annual farmers market managers workshops.  The workshops will be held:

Feb 22 - Wilmington, NC

Mar 8 - Smithfield, NC

Mar 13 - Fletcher, NC

The program costs $20, which includes lunch and materials. Pre-registration is required.

Farmers Market Management Workshop

On January 24 Asheville City Market's manager, Mike McCreary will hold a "Farmers Market Management" workshop from 10 am to 2 pm in Asheville.

Topics for the workshop include:

• Models for effective management
• Comprehensive market regulations and the "rule repair" process
• Resolving market issues and keeping the peace
• Risk management resources
• Practical problem solving
  

The discussion will focus on the needs and issues raised by participants as part of an ongoing farmers market support effort in the coming year.

Registration is $15 and lunch will be provided.
